PRS’s Vela, Now Semi-Hollow!

When PRS originally unveiled their Vela, heads turned. Its vintage-inspired offset design was a drastic departure for the company. Now they’ve upped the ante with the S2 Vela Semi-Hollow. This guitar features a sweet sounding mahogany body and neck with a premium rosewood fingerboard. This guitar’s resonant semi-hollowbody tone is gorgeous enough on its own, but when you plug it in, it gets even better, thanks to a coil-tapped Vela bridge humbucker and a Type-D single-coil neck pickup. What’s more, a plate-style bridge with compensated brass saddles serves up maximum sustain and twang. Simply put, the PRS S2 Vela Semi-Hollow can rock, growl, and jangle with the best of them.

PRS Vela humbucker and Type-D single-coil pickups with coil-tap

The Vela Semi-Hollow is a killer tool to add to your arsenal of PRS tonal weapons. The Vela humbucker gives you the sweet sound that PRS is known for, including the coil-tap capability to take you into some serious jangle territory. A DeArmond-inspired Type-D single-coil pickup in the neck creates a tone reminiscent of years past. Together with the Starla humbucker in the bridge, there's not much tonal ground this axe can't cover.
